Who are we?

CreaTiffity Studios makes splash-proof jewelry that's fun and unique... just like you! Each piece is handmade or curated by the ultra Crea-Tiff girly, Tiffany Lytle. Tiffany has been making jewelry for herself her whole life! She is the daughter of a Cambodian refugee who taught her to be creative and resourceful from a very early age. CreaTiffity Studios pieces are influenced by Tiffany’s eclectic and wide-ranging personal style. There is certainly something for everyone in her studio drops!

Why CreaTiffity Studios was born...

Tiffany is a PhD student at the University of California, Santa Barbara (code for: Tiffany is a struggling student/ artist). Originally hailing from Los Angeles, she has been missing her performance-based creative endeavors, so she started making jewelry and hitting the local Santa Barbara pop-up market scene! Jewelry making has been an incredible creative outlet, and getting to meet the amazing Santa Barbara community has been even more fun!

What is "Splash-Proof Jewelry?"
Splash-proof is our way of saying you can get caught in the rain, jump in a lake or two, or get caught in a water balloon fight in these jewelry pieces! You can splash around, and you don't have to worry about having to toss your pieces in the trash. Our jewelry is Lazy girl approved, meaning if you forget to take it off in the shower, you won't need to worry about your piece rusting or making your skin itch. We know first-hand what it means to break out in hives from a piece of jewelry, so we try to be very transparent with our materials. We post the materials on every listing. If we missed one, let us know!
Most of the pieces we make are stainless steel or gold-plated stainless steel. While in most cases gold plating comes off within a week or two of being used and abused, the steel base on these pieces is non-corrosive, making it harder for that beautiful gold to lose its color! Stainless steel is strong, tarnish/ rust-proof and is considered hypoallergenic (great for sensitive ears, like Tiff's). Sometimes, we even have pieces made of ultra-hypoallergenic titanium steel! Again: Steel pieces will not rust or tarnish. Gold-plated steel pieces are fade-resistant! Steel/ Silver color pieces will stay perfect, as they are the color of the original metal!
We also offer a small selection of gold-filled pieces. Gold-filled jewelry goes through a bonding process, where a thick layer of metal is mechanically bonded to a base metal. The gold layer is thicker than gold-plated pieces— so obviously, she fancy! Gold-fill is largely recognized as being waterproof and hypoallergenic, though we find that because the base metal is often brass or copper, you may need to take some extra steps to prolong the longevity of your gold-filled pieces. Tiffany has tested her jewelry by using and abusing her materials to see how they hold up! So far, we have made hundreds of beautiful, affordable, and unique pieces that have stood up to years of sweat, showers, and even some (salt water) pool dives!

Jewelry Care:
All your pieces are splash proof, so they can stand up to sweat and some water. Like all jewelry, if you want your pieces to last a VERY long time, you gotta take care of them! Avoid chemicals and try to keep them from getting scratched up! Remember, steel can stand up to water better than gold filled (in our experience), so splash carefully in gold-filled pieces. Always be aware that jewelry can snag, break, or become misshapen if you abuse it too much! Be conscientious of the style of your piece— looking at you dainty chain lovers!
Stainless steel pieces: wash with water and gentle dish soap (just a drop!), and pat dry with a soft cloth.
Gold-filled pieces: use a gentle jewelry cleaner, rinse, and pat dry with a soft cloth.
 
How we operate:
We are a small operation, currently taking over Tiffany's living room. She pours her heart into every piece, designing and crafting new things as often as possible!
